Fernando P. Lima is a research scholar at CIBIO, Centro de Investigação em Biodiversidade e Recursos Genéticos. He got his PhD in Marine Biology from the University of Porto, Portugal. He is an specialist in intertidal biogeography, studying the processes and mechanisms driving species distributions.
Most of his work focus on the study of the mechanistic links between climate, thermal stress, physiology and macro-ecological processes. His research brings together a variety of disciplines, including climatology, biogeography, electronics, experimental ecology, behaviour, physiology and modelling.
His field studies are currently being carried out on the Atlantic coast of Europe and North Africa.
