Rui Seabra is a postdoc researcher at CIBIO-InBIO.
As a marine biologist, his main research interest is the study of how environmental factors influence biogegraphic patterns across multiple scales, especially under Climate Change.
His work is mostly focused on intertidal ecosystems, where he attempts to improve collective knowledge of the exact environmental conditions intertidal organisms have to contend with, especially temperature, wave impact and desiccation, from the global to the microhabitat level. The core of his research involves setting up networks of environmental sensors (many of which custom-built), compiling population data on intertidal organisms (distribution, abundance, stress level, etc.) and modelling stress risk.
